Medeama SC Head to Abidjan for Three-Week Residential Pre-Season Camp

Medeama Sporting Club will depart Tarkwa on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as preparations for the 2026/27 season move into a crucial new phase with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions heading to Côte d’Ivoire for a three-week residential pre-season camp.

The Mauve and Yellows returned from their end-of-season break on July 14 and began preparations the following day with training sessions at Akoon Park, gradually building fitness and sharpness ahead of another demanding campaign.

The team will now relocate to Koumassi, a suburb of Abidjan and the same base used during last season's pre-season programme, where the squad will undergo an intensive period of training, tactical work, team bonding and match preparation.

Medeama's training sessions in Abidjan are scheduled to take place at the Parc des Sports de Treichville and the Lycée Classique natural grass pitch**, providing the team with quality facilities as preparations intensify.

A total of 35 players are expected to make the trip, alongside 14 members of the technical team and Management, as the Club continues to assemble and prepare a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.

The residential camp is expected to play a key role in integrating the Club's new signings, strengthening team chemistry and sharpening the squad ahead of the defence of the Ghana Premier League title and Medeama's return to the CAF Champions League, where the Club will represent Ghana on the continental stage.

With the foundations already laid in Tarkwa, the Mauve and Yellows now take the next step in their preparations in Abidjan for a three week of hard work, team bonding, unity and renewed ambition as the Champions prepare for another historic season.

The team will engage in a series of preparatory international friendly games  before returning to Ghana to wrap up plans ahead of the CAF Champions League campaign and domestic top flight competitions.
